Chapter 6: System Operation

¾

Data Number 51 - Approach Speed (Recommended Setting: 0~Tool Max. Speed)

ƒ

Higher speed value used for the “no-load” portion of the press operation. The press will

run at this speed until [60: Approach Distance], [24: Press Speed Start Distance] or
[14: Press Speed Start Load] is reached.

Begins after [40: Slow Start Time] has passed.

¾

Data Number 52 - Part Search Speed (Recommended Setting: 0~50mm/sec.)

ƒ

Slower speed value used to approach the part. The press will run at this speed until

[24: Press Speed Start Distance] or [14: Press Speed Start Load] is reached.

Begins after [60: Approach Distance] is reached.

¾

Data Number 53 - Press Speed (Recommended Setting: 0~30mm/sec.*)

ƒ

Slowest speed value used for the “load” portion of the press operation.

Begins after [24: Press Speed Start Distance] or [14: Press Speed Start Load] is
reached.

*When greater precision is required, set speed at 3mm/sec. or lower.

¾

Number 54 - Return Speed (Recommended Setting: 0~Tool Max. Speed)

ƒ

Return operation speed.

¾

Data Number 60 - Approach Distance

ƒ

The distance of Approach Speed operation. This distance is measured from [62: Job

Start Position], not from end of [40: Slow Start Time].

A setting is possible from 0 to stroke distance limit.

The approximate distance required to decelerate from Approach Speed to Part
Search Speed can be calculated as follows:

AS

DD = MS

x (AS x R x 0.5)

Where: DD = Deceleration Distance

AS = Approach Speed

MS = Maximum Speed of the Tool

* R = Retardation (0.1 = Fast Decel, 0.2 = Slow Decel) See Section 4.8.2.

*Version 1.996 and up – when in distance control if not enough distance is
programmed for the tool to stop before Target Distance, tool will automatically set
deceleration.
Deceleration Distance may be larger if weight is attached to the press ram.
