The MSDE/SQL Server Information window appears. MSDE or SQL
Server is an application that manages and runs your IntelliTrack data-
base.
If you are upgrading to v7.x from a previous version, are using the
Windows XP operating system, and are using MSDE, IntelliTrack
ISRP will continue to use MSDE to run the database.
If you are upgrading to v7.x from a previous version and are using the
Windows Vista operating system, the system will install SQL Express
if it does not detect a full version of SQL Server on your system.
If this is a new installation, IntelliTrack ISRP will use SQL Server. If it
doesn’t detect SQL Server on your system, it will install SQL Express.
Enter the server name and location, database name, and server login
information in this window:
MSDE/SQL Server: (Local) is automatically filled in by the instal-

lation wizard. Enter the server name and server instance (if applica-
ble), the database name, and the server login information in this
window.

Database: The name of the database is automatically filled in by the

Installation Wizard. If the database name is different, please enter
the name in this field. If you do not know the name of the database,
please contact your network administrator. Please note that the data-
base may not function properly if special characters or spaces are
used in the database name; hence, do not include special characters
(dashes, punctuation, or quotes) or spaces in the database name.

Username and Password: Provide your server login information in the
Username and Password fields.
SQL Authentication: If your system uses SQL Authentication for

logging into SQL Server, enter your username in the Username
field. (If you are using SQL Server 2005 or higher, or SQL Express,
you must use a password for logging into SQL Server. Blank is not a
valid password. Do not leave this field blank.) Note to MSDE users:
if you use MSDE with the login information: username/sa and pass-
word/blank.
