Quick Start Guide

The installer must have administrative privileges on the computer.

This option works with SQL Server Authentication or NT Authentica-
tion.

A domain user account is not required.

Since IIS and SQL Server reside on the same computer, the Create IIS
Dependencies Utility (Start > Programs > IntelliTrack > ISRP >
ISRP Application > Create IIS Dependencies) may be used to con-
figure IIS and SQL Server permissions with this setup option. Running
the utility creates a virtual directory, sets full control file permissions
for the Internet user in the virtual directory, and adds the Internet user
to the WMS_USER role in SQL Server (does not apply to MSDE).

Verify the Sync URL setting in the Batch Synchronization Utility. For
this option, it should be set to http://{computer name}/Int-
elliTrack/sqlcesa35.dll. For more information about the
Sync URL setting, please refer to

“Sync URL Setting” on page 28

.

Option 2: Uses two computers. The workstation application, IIS, and
ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center Software for Vista reside
on one local computer; SQL Server resides on a remote computer. This
option only works in a domain environment with SQL Server or SQL
Express. It DOES NOT work with MSDE.

When you use this option, please be aware of the following security
requirements:

The installer must have administrative privileges on the PC.

You may use SQL Server Authentication with SQL Server.

A domain account is required.

Since IIS and SQL Server reside on different computers, the Create
IIS Dependencies Utility
cannot be used to configure IIS and SQL
Server permissions; they must be manually configured on each PC. For
more information about manually configuring IIS, please refer to

“Manually Configuring Internet Information Services in Windows XP
Operating Systems” on page 27

or

“Manually Configuring Internet

Information Services in Windows Vista Operating Systems” on
page 27

.

Set the Sync URL setting in the Batch Synchronization Utility to:
http://{IIS Computer name}/{virtual directory
