Since IIS and SQL Server reside on the same computer, the Create IIS
Dependencies Utility (Start > Programs > IntelliTrack > Intelli-
Track Application
> Create IIS Dependencies) may be used to con-
figure IIS and SQL Server permissions with this setup option. When
you run the IIS Utility, it creates the virtual directory, and adds the
Internet user to the WMS_USER role in SQL Server.

Verify the Sync URL setting in the Batch Portable Utility. It should be
set to http://{IIS computer name}/IntelliTrack/sqlcesa35.dll. For more
information about the Sync URL setting, please refer to

“Sync URL

Setting” on page 28

.

Option 4: Uses three or more computers. The workstation application
and Microsoft ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center Software for
Vista reside on the local computer; one remote computer contains SQL
Server; another remote computer contains IIS and the workstation applica-
tion. This option works only in a domain environment with SQL Server or
SQL Express. It DOES NOT work with MSDE.

When you use this RDA option, please be aware of the following security
requirements:

Installer must have administrative privileges on the PC.

You may only use SQL Server Authentication for logging into SQL
Server.

A domain account is required.

Since IIS and SQL Server reside on different computers, the Create IIS
Dependencies Utility cannot be used. The installer must manually con-
figure IIS dependencies on each PC. For more information about manu-
ally configuring IIS, please refer to

“Manually Configuring Internet

Information Services in Windows XP Operating Systems” on page 27

or

“Manually Configuring Internet Information Services in Windows

Vista Operating Systems” on page 27

.

Set the Sync URL setting in the Batch Portable Utility to: http://
{IIS computer name}/{virtual directory name}/
sqlcesa35.dll.
