SSH Server Configuration
SSHv1
Encryption
Algorithms Enables or disables DES , and displays the status (always enabled) of
Blowfish , two encryption algorithms (block ciphers) compatible with
SSH, version 1, clients.
•
DES : The key length is 56 bits.
• Blowfish : The key length is 128 bits. You cannot disable this algorithm.
N OTE : Not all SSH clients can use every algorithm. If your SSH client
cannot use Blowfish , you must also enable DES .
SSHv2
Encryption
Algorithms Enables or disables the following encryption algorithms (Block Ciphers)
that are compatible with SSH version 2 clients.
•
3DES (enabled by default): The key length is 168 bits.
• Blowfish (enabled by default): The key length is 128 bits.
• AES 128 : The key length is 128 bits.
• AES 256 : The key length is 256 bits.
N OTE : Not all SSH clients can use every algorithm. Your SSH client
selects the algorithm that provides the highest security from among the
enabled algorithms that it is able to use. (If your SSH client cannot use
either of the default algorithms, you must enable an AES algorithm that it
can use.)
