• Win-Situ “finds” (connects to) the device(s). For a modem

connection, Win-Situ initiates a phone call.

• The status bar at the bottom of the screen shows the state of

communications between Win-Situ and the device.

• After the connection is made, the device appears in the Naviga-

tion tree.

4. Click to select the device in the Navigation tree. If more than one

device was located, select the one you want to talk to first.

STEP 5: SET THE CLOCK

The device clock is shown in the right corner of the status bar. Data
collection schedules depend on the device clock. Set it as follows:

1. With the device selected in the Navigation tree, click Set Device

Clock.

2. Select one of these options:

• If the device clock is wrong but the PC clock is right, select

Syncronize Device Clock to Computer Clock.

• To use a different time for the device, select the second option

and enter the desired device time.

3. Click Finish. The new time will be sent to the device.

If the device does not appear in the tree, there may be a
communication problem between Win-Situ and the device.
Check these items: (1) the COM port, (2) the hardware
connections, (3) the device’s battery or external power.
