DHCP Settings
Selecting
DHCP
Settings in the Advanced Setup tab generates the “
DHCP
Settings”
screen. The Modem has a built-in
DHCP
(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol)
server that automatically assigns a different
IP
address to each computer on the
network, eliminating
IP
address conflicts.
The factory default setting is On. To disable the
DHCP
server, select Off.
Actiontec strongly recommends leaving the
DHCP
Server option On. If the
DHCP
Server option is Off, ensure the
IP
addresses of the networked computers are
on the same subnet as the
IP
address of the Modem. For more information, see
“
DHCP
Server Configuration.”

Clicking in the “I would like to adjust the
DHCP
Server settings” check box allows
values to be entered in the text boxes in the lower part of the
DHCP
Settings screen.
