SMF Events

conditional-info

is returned if a file system or shared services error occurs. See

Conditional

Information

on page A-23. Shared services notifications are described in

Table A-8

on page A-16.

Cause. SMF could not map a logical file to a physical file, most likely because of file
code or file type discrepancies.

Effect. The request for which file mapping is required cannot be processed.

Recovery. Determine the correct file attributes, and resubmit the request. If required,
delete and re-create the file.

5049: ZSMF-EVT-BEGINTRANSACTIONERROR

error-number

is a file system error number associated with token ZSMF-TKN-INT16-LINK1.

conditional-info

is returned if a file system or shared services error occurs. See

Conditional

Information

on page A-23. Shared services notifications are described in

Table A-8

on page A-16.

Cause. A transaction could not be started when the PENDOPS catalog file was being
used to complete an outstanding operation. The PENDOPS file is used when SMF
needs to recover outstanding operations in progress when an interruption, such as a
CPU failure, occurred.

Effect. Recovery is not completed, but SMF retries.

Recovery. If SMF is unsuccessful after retrying recovery, try to determine why by
using the file system error number as a guide; refer to the Guardian Procedure Errors
and Messages Manual
for the specific file system error generated. If the problem
persists, you can use SMFIXUP to purge and re-create the PENDOPS catalog file;
however, none of the pending operations about which it contains information will be
recoverable.

5050: ZSMF-EVT-BUFFERALLOCFAILED

buffer-size

is the number of bytes in the buffer that could not be allocated associated with
token ZSMF-TKN-INT16-LINK1.

BEGINTRANSACTION error error-number. [conditional-info]

Unable to allocate buffer-size size buffer from the heap-type
heap. [conditional-info]
