EMU Front Panel

The EMU user interface controls, connectors, and LED displays are
on the front panel (see Figure 3–3). The following sections describe
the function of each component.

EMU Major Component Locations

EMU Communications Connectors

These connectors (C

ALLOUTS

1 and 7) provide for EMU–EMU

communications between the master EMU and expansion EMUs.

System Fault LED and Alarm Control Switch

The amber system fault LED is part of the alarm control switch
(C

ALLOUT

2). This LED turns O

N

if an error condition is detected.

The system fault LED starts F

LASHING

if the EMU has one or more

fault codes to display.

If the system fault LED is F

LASHING

, momentarily pressing the EMU

alarm control switch turns the audible alarm O

FF

and initiates a fault

code LED display.

Pressing the alarm control switch for at least 5 seconds clears all
stored active fault codes. New fault detection and display continues.

If the enclosure is in standby power mode, momentarily pressing the
alarm control switch restores dc power to the enclosure.
