RCU target ports before the CESTPATH or YKBLDPTH and CDELPATH or YKDELPTH
commands are issued.

At the remote site, change the existing RCU target ports to initiator ports.

If system option mode 114 is enabled on all MCUs and RCUs, the ports will reconfigure
automatically if you use the CESTPATH or YKBLDPTH command to add the pairs at the
remote site.

For Fibre Channel interface, do not use the CESTPATH or YKBLDPTH and CDELPATH or
YKDELPTH commands at the same time as the SCSI path definition function of LUN
Manager. The Fibre Channel interface ports need to be configured as initiator ports or
RCU target ports before the CESTPATH or YKBLDPTH and CDELPATH or YKDELPTH
commands are issued.

5.

At the remote site, set up the Cnt Ac-S Z system with the remote site as the primary system,
and the local site as the secondary system.

6.

At the secondary system create the pairs, with the S-VOLs at the local site. Make sure to use
Entire Copy for the Initial Copy Type option. Confirm that the pairs are created and that status
is Duplex.

7.

At the secondary system, halt host operations and vary the P-VOL offline. This maintains
synchronization of the pairs.

8.

At the remote site, split the pairs. Confirm that the pairs are split and status is Suspended -
S-VOL by operator before proceeding. If an error occurs, resolve it before proceeding.

9.

At the secondary system, release the pairs. You do not need to use the Delete Pair by Force
option.

10. At the primary and secondary system, change the path and port settings.

- If you plan to use the same data paths:

At the local site, change the existing RCU target ports to initiator ports.

At the remote site, change the existing initiator ports to RCU target ports.

11. At the local site, perform configuration tasks in preparation for creating the pairs.
12. At the local site, establish consistency groups and create the Continuous Access Synchronous

Z pairs in the original direction. You may use No Copy for the Initial Copy Type option because
all P-VOLs and S-VOLs are synchronized. If there is any possibility that the volumes are not
100% synchronized, use Entire Copy for Initial Copy Type.

13. Vary the primary system and P-VOLs online, and start host operations.

Procedure 36 To transfer operations back to the loca site—if the YKSUSPND REVERSE command
was run when operations were switched to the remote site

1.

At the local site, bring up the host. Make sure that Cnt Ac-S Z components are operational.

2.

Run the Business Continuity Manager YKRESYNC REVERSE command.

3.

At the secondary system, halt host operations and vary the P-VOL offline. This maintains
synchronization of the pairs.

4.

Run the YKSUSPND FORWARD command.

5.

Run YKRESYNC FORWARD command.

6.

Vary the primary system and P-VOLs online, and start host operations.
