31.8.4 Replace an OA or add a redundant OA

Possible cause and recommendation

Symptom

NOTE:

The procedure for replacing a failed OA applies to only redundant configurations

that have both active and standby OAs.

For single OA configurations, replace the OA and re-add the enclosure to the appliance.

1.

Use the instructions in the hardware documentation to remove the failed OA and insert the
replacement. Or, if you are creating a redundant configuration, add the second OA to the
enclosure.

2.

Log into the appliance.

3.

From the main menu, select Enclosures, and then select the affected enclosure.

4.

From the view menu, select Firmware. Make sure the Active and Standby firmware is same
version.
• If the OA firmware of the Active and Standby OAs match, the process is complete.
• If the new OA has mismatched or unsupported firmware, a message is displayed on the

Enclosures screen. Proceed to step 5.

5.

From the Enclosures screen, select Actions

→Update firmware.

6.

From the Firmware baseline list, select the firmware baseline to install.

7.

From the Update firmware for list, select Enclosure, and then click OK. Only the OA firmware
is updated.

8.

Once the enclosure firmware has been updated, verify the updated version is displayed on
the Enclosures screen.
