2-2-6 Manual Install
In situations where the Wizard Install is not possible users also have an option to perform the
installation manually.
2-2-6-1 Overview
For performing manual installation, the user will need to FTP files manually and follow the
installation procedure described below. Note that this is not our recommended process of
installation.
2-2-6-2 Process
For the Manual Installation, use the WS_SW\Manual Install\ascii and \binary folders from the
CD as specified below:
a.
The following files need to be transferred in ‘
ASCII
’ mode to $volume.subvolume
INSTWEA
MAKEWEA
EABAMIMP
b.
The following files need to be transferred in ‘BINARY‘ mode to $volume.subvolume
EACOLL
EAEVTS
EASETUP
EAVIEW
FTPCTL
WEATMPAK
c.
Obey the Install file ‘INSTWEA’:
i
Set working volume to $system.zwvpea (or to $volume.subvolume where you have
installed EA)
ii
Issue ‘OBEY INSTWEA’. Doing so will alter the file codes of the objects and obey files,
alter the file security, obey file MAKEWEA (that creates the database files), and finally
run EASETUP which will bring up the interactive installer program. The menu of this
installer program will allow selection and modification of the EA configuration. Once the
configuration has been accepted, EASETUP will update the Web ViewPoint
configuration files accordingly, and update the EA files with default.
iii
To bring up EA, Web ViewPoint processes have to be restarted by issuing an ‘OBEY
STOPWVP’ command followed by an ‘OBEY STRTWVP’ command.
2-2-6-3 Considerations
Once the manual installation is complete, Web ViewPoint processes have to be restarted by
issuing an ‘OBEY STOPWVP’ command followed by an ‘OBEY STRTWVP’ command.
