d. Action EventLook back x days: When matching the action-taken event with an action-required

event that occurred earlier, EA will look at the EAACT files for a past number of days as defined
by this parameter. The number of days can range from 1 through 99. Default is 1 day, meaning
it looks at the same day’s and previous day’s logs to find a match.

These four parameters are stored in ENSCRIBE file EAPARAM. When the ‘Update’ button is
clicked, the EAPARAM file will be updated with the new parameters. A message will also be sent by
the EAVIEW process to EACOLL notifying EACOLL of the updated run time.

3-1-2-2 Manage Collectors

Figure 21 Admin – Manage Collectors

This screen lists the collectors whose log files are to be scanned daily. Multiple collectors can be
added and once added, the EACOLL program scans all specified collectors for analyzing the
events. By default, ‘$0’ is listed as a collector upon install.

The list box on the left includes a list of collectors that is created by querying the system for the
EMS collectors. The collectors that EA will look at daily are listed on the right-hand side list box.
To add a collector to the list on the right, either a.) type in the name of the collector in the text box
to the left, and click ‘Add’; or b) click on a collector from the list below the text box (this will
populate the text box with this collector name) and then click ‘Add’. If the collector being added is
already present, a warning to that effect is shown. Note that at a given time; only one collector
from the list on the left-hand side can be selected to add to the list on the right.
