Effect: The primary EACOLL process will not be able to communicate with the backup and vice versa.
This will prevent the backup process to take over as the primary in case the primary process goes
down. The primary will not be aware if the backup goes down and the nonstop operation of EACOLL
will not take effect.
Recovery: Recovery will depend on the specific Guardian error returned. For e.g. Error 14 can be
recovered from by restarting the Web ViewPoint (and hence EA) processes.

EACOLL <Function Name>: Error Quota Over, stopping
Relating to function or activity: EACOLL Backup process operation.
Cause: Occurs if the number of errors generated by the EACOLL Backup process exceeds 20. At this
point the backup process shuts itself down.
Effect: The backup process will not be able to communicate with the primary. This will prevent the
backup process to take over as the primary in case the primary process goes down.
Recovery: Recovery will require restarting the Web ViewPoint (and hence EA) processes.

<Program Name> <Function Name>: FILE_GETINFO_ (<proc call>) error: <Error Number>
Relating to function or activity: File access (read or write).
Cause: Occurs on the “FILE_GETINFO_” Guardian procedure call. The Guardian error number
indicating what the cause was is part of the event text and so is the procedure call that had failed
earlier to trigger the FILE_GETINFO_ call. Could occur due to various reasons, for e.g. file no longer
open (Error 16).
Effect: If the error occurs on the collector program, the daily database updates or the one-time loads
will not be completed. If the error occurs on the UI, the screen or data requested will not be displayed.
Recovery: Recovery will depend on the specific Guardian error returned. For e.g. Error 16 can be
recovered by ensuring the file in question is not closed.

EACOLL <Function Name>: AWAITIOX Error(2) <Error Number 1>,<Error Number 2>
Relating to function or activity: EACOLL Backup process waiting on messages from the primary.
Cause: Occurs on the “AWAITIOX” Guardian procedure call. The Guardian error number indicating
what the cause was is part of the event text (Error Number 2).
Effect The backup process will not be able to communicate with the primary. This will prevent the
backup process to take over as the primary in case the primary process goes down.
Recovery: Recovery will depend on the specific Guardian error returned. For e.g. Error 26 can be
recovered from by ensuring that a nowait operation is initiated before calling AWAITIOX.
