When you enter the license key for Compatible FlashCopy, both Version 1 and Version 2 will
be installed; therefore you need to disable Version 2.
3. Click Apply in the Remote Web Console window.
4. Set the corresponding devices offline from your host.
5. Set these devices back to online.
This ensures that you have the latest device information before performing Version 1 operations.
This offline/online operation is required only one time.
6. Execute the devserv command with the VALIDATE option of QDASD for the devices in the
storage system.

To use Version 1 with both Version 1 and Version 2 installed, perform the procedure from
step 2. If the license type is Permanent, you cannot Disable the License Status.

When the shared memory meets the requirement for installing Version 1, but does not meet
the requirement for installing Version 2, an error message (message ID:0405 8204) will be
displayed. If this happens, continue the installation.

Uninstalling Version 1
To uninstall Version 1:
1. Select Compatible FlashCopy and click Uninstall in the Remote Web Console window.
2. Click Apply in the Remote Web Console window.
3. Set the corresponding devices offline from your host.
4. Set these devices back to online.
This ensures that you have the latest device information after performing Version 1 operations.
This offline/online operation is required only once.
5. Execute the devserv command with the VALIDATE option of QDASD for the devices in the
storage system.
6. Perform the mainframe host path offline operation from your host.
7. Perform the mainframe host path online operation from your host.
