Cabling a RS-232

Console Port

(AT-CM70S Line

Card Only)

When connecting to the RS-232 console port on the front of the
AT-CM70S line card, observe the following guidelines:

Once the connection is done, set the terminal or terminal emulation
program to the following defaults:

Baud rate: 115200 bps

ˆ

Data bits: 8

ˆ

Parity: None

ˆ

Stop bits: 1

ˆ

Flow control: None

Note

The settings are for a DEC VT100 or ANSI terminal, or an equivalent
terminal emulation program.

To connect to the RS-232 console port on the AT-CM70S line card,
perform the following procedure:

1. Connect the 8-pin Mini-DIN end of the RS-232 serial cable to the

console port on the front of the AT-CM70S line card, as shown in
Figure 31.

2. Connect the other end of the cable to an RS-232 port on a terminal or

a personal computer with a terminal emulation program.

3. Power ON the end-nodes.

When the connection is established and the console port is operational,
the CONSOLE LED for the console port should show green.
