Troubleshooting

This chapter contains information about how to troubleshoot the line cards
in the event that a problem occurs.

Note

If after following the instructions in this chapter you are unable to
resolve the problem, contact Allied Telesis Technical Support for
assistance. Refer to “Contacting Allied Telesis” on page 14 for
contact information.

Converteon™ Line Cards

RDY LED is OFF

If the RDY LED on a Converteon™ line card is OFF, perform the following:

Verify that the card is firmly inserted in the slot.

ˆ

Remove and re-insert the card.

ˆ

Verify that at least one power supply in the back of the converter is
operational.

ˆ

Make sure that the power cord is securely connected to the power
source and to the DC connector on the back panel of the switch.

ˆ

Verify that the power outlet has power by connecting another device to
it.

ˆ

Try connecting the unit to another power source.

ˆ

Try using a different power adapter.

ˆ

Check that the voltage from the power source is within the required
levels for your region.

RDY LED is

Flashing

If the RDY LED on an AT-CV5M01 card is flashing, perform the following:

Verify that the settings on the DIP switches and jumpers are correct.

ˆ

Try using the default settings.

ˆ

Remove and re-insert the card.
