To erase a track

Note that once a recording has
been erased, you cannot retrieve it.
Make sure of the track you are
erasing.

On the recorder

1

While playing the track you want to
erase, press the jog dial.

Turn the dial until “EDIT” flashes in
the display, and then press to enter.
The recorder plays the selected track
repeatedly.

3

Turn the jog dial until “

: Erase”

flashes in the display, and then press
to enter.
“Erase OK?” and “PushENTER”
appear in the display.

Press the jog dial to enter.
The track is erased and the next track
starts to play. All the tracks after the
one erased are automatically
renumbered.

On the remote control

1 While playing the track you want to erase,

press DISPLAY for 2 seconds or more.

2 Turn the control repeatedly until “EDIT”

flashes in the display, and then press

x

to

enter.

3 Turn the control repeatedly until

: Erase” flashes in the display, and then

press

x

to enter.

Erase OK?

” and “

PushENTER

” appear in

the display.

4 Press

x

to enter.

To erase a part of a track

Add track marks at the beginning and the
end of the part you want to erase, then
erase the part (page 63).

To erase the whole disc

You can quickly erase all the tracks and
data of the MD at the same time.
Note that once a recording has
been erased, you cannot retrieve it.
Be sure to check the contents of
the disc before you erase it.
This function can be operated on the

recorder only.

Play the disc you want to erase to
check the contents.

Flip the bar towards x to stop.

3

Press the jog dial.

4

Turn the dial until “EDIT” flashes in
the display, and then press to enter.

5

Turn the jog dial until “

: Erase”

flashes in the display, and then press
to enter.
“AllErase?” and “PushENTER”
appear in the display.

6

Press the jog dial to enter.
“TOC Edit” flashes in the display,
and all the tracks will be erased.
When erasing is complete,
“BLANKDISC” flashes and “00:00”
appears in the display.
