PROFIBUS Information

Structure of the "Set Prm
Data"-telegram

During startup of the network, it is possible to force start-up values for all writable parameters
through the User Prm Data. The module will use the settings provided that the "Parameter
Initialization"-setting (User Prm Data byte #3) is set as "Enabled". Note that this will result in
any previous settings to be replaced by the settings from the User Prm Data.

Electronic Data Sheet

Electronic data sheet (GSD) files are specially formatted ASCII files that provide all of the
information necessary for a PROFIBUS configuration tool to access and alter the parameters of
a device. The GSD file contains all the parameter information of a device: number of
parameters, groupings, parameter name, min, max, and default values, units, data format and
