Assembly
Assembly items are those that must be completed prior to
first unfolding.
Position for Assembly
1. Unload drill from truck and place it in a location that
allows for:
• tow away depth:
23 feet (7m) plus
length of tractor plus
turning room
• wing unfolding:
13.5 feet (4.1m) either side of centerline, or
27 feet (8.2m) total span), and
• if markers were ordered:
27 feet (8.2m) either side of centerline, or
54 ft (16.4m) total span.
Install Wing Walkboards and Steps
There are two walkboards, one on the back of each wing
seed box. The walkboards themselves are identical for
each section. The way they install varies by section.
Bolts for walkboards are shipped in a bag in one of the
drill boxes.
If the drill has swing-down ladders, the wing walkboard
installation is identical at the outside ends.
If the drill has single steps, they are mounted as part of
the walkboard installation, and require longer bolts at the
outside ends.
Walkboards with Single Steps

1. Select one walkboard , and four sets of 1 ⁄

bolts , lock washers and hex nuts .
2. Using the top bolt holes on each end, temporarily bolt
each wing walkboard
to box support channels .
3. Skip to “Install Fixed Walkboard Steps” on page 11.
