Appendix C - Accessory Installation

Side Dress Installation

Side Dress accessory kits provide a left wing extension
to support an additional (17th) forward single coulter and
forward boom drop line. The kit is user-installed, and
conversion between pre-emergence and side dress
modes requires user re-configuration of the implement.

See page 99 for ordering information. Side dress is
compatible only with 30-inch implements.

Installing / Changing to Side Dress

For reverting to pre-emergence, continue at page 118.

Resources required:

• Tractor for unfold and lift/lower operations

• one fertilizer orifice plate, sized to rate intended

(kit includes sizes 28, 34 and 48)

• three dozen cable ties

• all-purpose grease and grease gun

• basic hand tools

Prepare Implement
1.

Move implement to a level clear surface with
adequate illumination.

2.

Raise implement (page 35).

3.

Install lift assist cylinder locks (page 31).

4.

Unfold wings (page 38).

5.

Fully extend wing gauge wheels (page 55).

6.

Install parking stands (page 25).

7.

Lower implement onto parking stands.

8.

Unhitch tractor.

Machine Damage Risk (Dual Tank Configurations):
The shank (rod) of the 17th (side dress) coulter must be
mounted on the rear face of the front tool bar to avoid
interference with the fertilizer tanks in folding.
