Install Wing Extension

Refer to Figure 66 and Figure 67
If the wing extension is already installed, continue at
Dismount Rear Coulters” on page 113.

9.

Select one new:

407-331H BOLT ON WING FRAME

and eight sets new:

802-055C HHCS 5/8-11X2 GR5

804-022C WASHER LOCK SPRING 5/8 PLT

803-021C NUT HEX 5/8-11 PLT

10. With the Great Plains decal to the left, and the amber

reflector front, attach the extension

to the end of

the left wing.

Note: Once installed, the extension itself never needs to

be removed, unless you need to reduce the higher
overall height when folded.

Dismount Rear Coulters

11. Raise the unfolded implement. Install transport locks

and parking stands. Fully extend wing gauge wheels.

12. At each rear coulter shank, use a grease or paint

pencil to make a mark on the top of the rear tool bar
at shank

center-line.

13. If coulter height has been changed from factory

default, record the height. See Coulter Height and
Castering
” on page 54 f
or reference points.

14. At each rear coulter pivot, disconnect the tubing from

the grease bank, and, if installed, the fertilizer drop
line. Use a cable tie to secure each row’s tubing to a
U-bolt at the front coulter clamp.

15. Carefully loosen the four nuts

at each coulter

16. Slide the coulter shank

down out of the clamp.

17. Leave clamps in place (except as required for

step 18 on page 114). Re-tighten nuts to no more
than Grade 2 torque.
