Short-Term Parking

1.

Conclude application per “Ending Application” on
page 48.

2.

Choose an implement parking location with level firm
ground. Do not unhitch on a steep slope.

3.

Fully raise implement (page 35).

4.

Fold applicator (page 37).

5.

Engage lift-assist transport locks (page 31), and
deploy parking stands (page 25).

6.

Lower fertilizer applicator onto locks/stands.

7.

Set all hydraulic circuits to Float.

8.

Shut off tractor.

9.

Disconnect hydraulic lines. Secure them so that they
do not touch the ground.

10. Disconnect electrical cables, capping where

provisioned.

11. Disconnect any safety chain. Unhitch. Restart tractor

and pull away from fertilizer applicator.

Long-Term Storage

Equipment Damage Risk:
Ground Drive: Keep the piston pump wet. Fertilizer suffices for
short-term parking. Flush with water for longer term parking.
Add RV antifreeze for winter storage. See page 79. F
ailure to
properly care for your pump and other cart components can
lead to serious equipment damage in a relatively short span of
time.

2.

ground. Do not unhitch on a steep slope.

3.

Fully raise implement (page 35).

4.

Flush and fill pump per page 79.

If possible, remove pump from implement and store
indoors above freezing temperatures.

5.

Clean applicator of mud, dirt, excess oil and grease.

6.

Lubricate all points listed in Maintenance.

7.

Apply grease to exposed cylinder rods to prevent
rust.

8.

Inspect applicator for worn or damaged parts. Make
repairs and service during off season.

9.

Use spray paint to cover scratches, chips, and worn
areas on the applicator to protect the metal.

10. Fold applicator.

11. Cover applicator with a tarp if stored outside.
