Carefully slide the new cooling fan into the empty cooling-fan bay. Push the cool-
ing fan all the way to the back of the bay until it is seated in the connector. The
cooling fan is seated when its front plate is even with the front plate of the neigh-
boring fan.

Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, turn the two captive screws clockwise until the
cooling fan is secured to the cooling-fan bay. The cooling fan starts.

NOTE: In a cluster configuration, you must turn off any server nodes connected to the
PowerVault 2xxS storage system while you replace an ESEM or SEMM.

When you need to replace enclosure module A in a redundant storage system,
replace it with enclosure module B. Then replace module B with a new one
(see Figure 7-4).

In a redundant configuration, module A copies system-specific information to
module B. Both modules retain the same information. By replacing module A with
module B and then installing the new module in the module B bay, what is now
module A copies the system-specific information to the new module B.

If you need to replace only module B, replace it with a new module.

To replace module A, perform the following steps.
