Optical Drive

CAUTION: Only a certified service technician should perform repairs on your

CAUTION: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist
grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a
connector on your computer).
Removing the Optical Drive
1 Follow the instructions in "Before You Begin" on page 11.
2 Remove the back cover. See "Removing the Back Cover" on page 19.
3 Disconnect the power and data cables from the connector on the optical
drive.
4 Remove the screw that secures the optical-drive assembly to the chassis.
5 Slide the optical-drive assembly out of the optical-drive bay.
