Backup begins and the display shows the current file number and the percent completion for
the current file:

Backup will proceed until all files are backed up, and the display will show the total number
of files.

is pressed during backup the display changes to:

QUIT BACKUP?

PRESS ENTER/CANCEL

and the backup will continue. Press E

NTER

to stop backup. An ending

summary will be displayed.

Restore From Backup Procedure

The procedure for Restoring a Bank or Drive are the same. Instant Replay identifies the type of
backup automatically.

From the file transfer menu select RESTORE FROM BACKUP and press E

NTER

.

The display changes to:

ARE YOU SURE?

PRESS ENTER/CANCEL

Press E

NTER

to continue, or C

ANCEL

to exit this operation.

After pressing E

NTER

the menu button begins to flash and the display shows:

START RESTORE DEVICE

STOP/CANCEL TO QUIT

At this time start the DAT machine playing a backup tape through its AES/EBU digital

output, and press Enter. Alternately, press Cancel to exit from this operation .

When backup data is received from the DAT player, the display changes to show the current file
number and the percent completion for the current file:

00% RESTORED

Restore will proceed until all files are restored; the display will show the number of files
successfully restored. Files received with DAT tape errors are skipped.

buttons are pressed, the operation continues but the display shows:

QUIT RESTORE?

PRESS ENTER/CANCEL

If you press E

NTER

the restore discontinues and an ending summary is displayed.

If you press C

ANCEL

TOP

at the prompt to quit, the display reverts to updating the file number

and percentage complete and the restore operation continues.

After the ending summary you are prompted to press E

NTER

. The machine resets

itself and restarts as it does when power is first applied.
