The Format Disk option for the external drive accessed through the Operations menu. This option
will erase the entire contents of the external disk. New removable disks such as Iomega Zip disks
must be formatted before they can be used.
The EXTERNAL DISK option in the CONFIGURATION menu must be set to ENABLED to
perform any operation specific to the External Disk Drive.
CAUTION!
FORMAT DISK WILL PERMANENTLY ERASE THE CONTENTS OF THE DISK .
IF AT ANY TIME THE FORMATTING PROCESS IS ABORTED, YOU MUST RECYCLE
POWER (TURN THE MACHINE OFF, THEN BACK ON AGAIN) TO ENSURE PROPER
OPERATION. REPEAT THE FORMAT PROCESS AFTER CYCLING POWER.
To Format the External Disk
•
Press M ENU and use the S CROLL A RROWS to locate O PERATIONS .

Press E NTER and use the S CROLL A RROWS to locate FORMAT EXT DISK. Press
E NTER , and the display will prompt:
FORMAT & ERASE DISK?
PRESS ENTER/CANCEL

Press E NTER to proceed, or C ANCEL to abort. If you press E NTER , the display will
prompt:
PRESS PLAY TO FORMAT
PRESS CANCEL TO QUIT

Press P LAY to continue. The display will prompt:
FORMATTING DISK
PLEASE WAIT
•
After the formatting operation is complete, the display will show the initializing
message, then will indicate “NO CUTS AVAILABLE".
