Front wheel bearings
To replace the front wheel ball bearings:
1.
Lift and safely support the front end of the tractor.
2.
Remove the front wheel by following the procedures
described in the previous section of this chapter.
3.
Drive the bearings out of the wheel hub using a
blunt ended punch. See Figure 6A.6.
4.
Drive in the new bearings using a brass punch or a
suitable bearing driver that contacts only the outer
race. See Figure 6A.7.
5.
Install the front wheel.
6.
Pump grease in the grease fitting on the front wheel
until it starts to squirt out of the hub.
7.
Test drive the tractor before returning it to service.
