NOTE: On tractors with power steering:

• Loosen the lower nut and bolt of the steering shaft

coupler using a pair of 1/2” wrenches.

• Remove the top nut and bolt from the steering

shaft coupler. See Figure 6A.16.

NOTE: It may be necessary to drive the bolt out with a

punch.

Remove the two shoulder screws that hold the steer-
ing shaft collar to the tilt steering bracket using a 3/8”
wrench. See Figure 6A.17.

7.

Lift the steering collar off of the tractor.

8.

Remove and discard the cotter pin that secures the
tilt steering dampener. See Figure 6A.18.
