SHORT SHIFT KIT
2006.5-up VW RABBIT, GOLF VI, JETTA V & VI, BEETLE with 2.5L – PART # 66.10.95
With OEM shifter #1K0 711 051 K / M
5-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS ONLY
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
PART LIST: 1 – SHORT SHIFT LEVER
TOOLS REQ: 1 – 13mm SOCKET 1 – RATCHET HANDLE
1 – 6” OR LONGER EXTENSION
1. Remove clip on end of shifter cable and remove cable that attaches to shift lever.
2.
Unbolt gear shift lever from selector shaft using a 13mm socket – remove lever.
3.
Grease guide rail on NEUSPEED® Short Shift Lever. Install shifter by first installing guide
rail in white plastic guide. Then match up splines on selector shaft – note wide alignment
spline. Install lock nut and torque to 20 ft./lbs.
4.
Grease pin on shift lever and attach cable. Re-attach retaining clip.
5.
Carefully double-check complete installation to be sure nothing interferes with the shift
linkage, tightness of all nuts and bolts, and check that ALL gears engage smoothly and fully
