The needle and thread you choose will depend

upon the fabric being stitched. The table on the

following page is a practical guide to thread and

needle selection. Refer to it before starting a

sewing project. Be sure to use the same size

thread in both the needle and bobbin.

CHANGING THE NEEDLE

The needle clamp has been designed so that

the needle can only be inserted with the flat

side of the shank toward the left.

1. Raise needle bar to its highest position,

loosen needle-clamp screw, and remove

needle.

2. Insert new needle in clamp, with flat side to

the left, and push it up as far as it will go.

3. Tighten needle-clamp screw.
