Startup

Daktronics recommends powering up and testing all display equipment approximately four hours before
an event.

Task

Turn on power to the display including Data Distributors not located in the display. Verify UPS is on. Verify
power to the rack is on.

Note: Graphical garbage may display until the DMP-7000 controller or VIP processor sends data to the
display.

Turn on power to the A/B Interfaces.

Note: To avoid random garbled images displaying while the control systems boot up, turn off the A/B
Interfaces after the DMP-7000 software begins running. However, scripts to send sign configuration and
calibration data will need to be created within DMP-7000 and then executed after turning on the A/B
Interfaces.

Turn on power to the VIP processors, and wait until the processor is booted up for operation.

Turn on all Digital Media Player (DMP) computers.

Note: With continuously running control computers, Daktronics recommends to restart the controllers
prior to each event.

Wait until the DMP-7000 shell window opens and the world graphic spins on all DMP-7000 controllers.
