Troubleshooting
Checking Pump Vacuum
You are working in a potentially dangerous environment of flammable fuels and
vapors.
Fire or explosion could result in severe injury or death if you do not follow safe
procedures.
Read and follow all safety precautions as outlined in the section
on
WARNING

Do not use Teflon tape. Teflon tape may shred off and get caught within
components.
CAUTION
Ensure that fittings are properly tightened and check for leaks.
CAUTION
To check pump vacuum, proceed as follows:

Remove 1/4-inch NPT plug from the side of the strainer extrusion on pump face (see
).

Install a long 1/4-inch pipe nipple by screwing into pump in order to extend beyond pump
pulley.

Attach the vacuum gauge into the pipe.
