4 – Recording

This unit can record sound from external microphones and external

audio devices, including CD players.
The unit can be set to record audio files in WAV or BWF

(44.1/48/96kHz, 16/24-bit) format.
Marks added when recording to Broadcast Wave Format (BWF) can

be used with software that supports this format, for example.
This recorder has five recording modes, including dual recording,

which allows the same input signals to be recorded at two different

levels, and 4-channel recording.

Selecting file format, sampling frequency,

and maximum file size

Select the audio file type that you want to record before you start

recording.
1. Press the MENU button to open the

MENU

screen.

2. Turn the DATA dial to select

REC SETTING

, and press the DATA

dial or / button to open the

REC SETTING

screen.

3. Turn the DATA dial to select

FORMAT

, and press the DATA dial or

/

button.

Set the file format with the Turn the DATA dial to one of the

following options.

Options:

BWF 16bit

,

BWF 24bit

,

WAV 16bit

(default

value),

WAV 24bit

NOTE

BWF is a format created for broadcasting that has the same

sound quality as the standard WAV format. It also uses the same

“.wav” file extension as WAV files. In this manual, we distinguish

these file types by using the terms BWF and WAV.

4. Press the DATA dial or . button to show settings.
5. Turn the DATA dial to select

SAMPLE

, and press the DATA dial or

/

button.

Set the sampling frequency with the Turn the DATA dial to one

of the following options.

Options:

44.1k

(default value),

48k

,

96k

.

6. Press the DATA dial or . button to show settings.
