Engine Starter Switch
The starter switch is located on the right handlebar. Use the starter
switch to start the engine, turn the headlights on and operate in
reverse (if equipped). The switch will operate only when the engine
stop/run switch is in the RUN position and the transmission is in
neutral (or the clutch is disengaged). The reverse lever (if equipped)
must also be disengaged.
Tip: If the reverse system fuse has blown, the starter switch will not func-
tion even if the reverse lever is disengaged. Replace the fuse. See
page 215.
Read the engine starting procedures before starting the engine. See
page 114.
• Press the right side of the starter switch to engage the starter
motor.
• Tap the starter switch to turn the headlight on without starting the engine.
• See page 129 for reverse operation.
