Security

Unique configuration password for persons authorized to perform configuration maintenance.

User names and passwords allow controlled access to computers with sensitive information,
system data, or restricted applications

Computers can be assigned to a unique group, allowing authorized access only

Flexibility

Extend the distance from the PC to the User stations up to 1,000 feet using industry standard CATx cabling

The Xtensys design makes for easy installation, maintenance, and expandability

All connections are made easy by using CATx cabling

Switching to computers can be done by keyboard commands or a convenient on-screen list of computers

Multi-language capabilities

Switches have integrated auto-switching power supplies which accept 100-120/200-240 V sources

On-screen display technology

The Xtensys video pops-up over the computer application display or is automatically generated

Easy to use menus guide you through the configuration process

The connection status for all computers can be displayed

Upgradeability

Free lifetime base firmware upgrades, based on flash memory technology, provide new features and
improvements. Base firmware upgrades are available from our web site at www.rose.com

Compatibility

A variety of hardware platforms can be connected simultaneously to the Xtensys switch without interference,
including PCs, Sun systems, IBM RS/6000, HP, DEC, SGI, serial devices, and others

Full keyboard and mouse emulation and video resolutions up to 1920 x 1440 ensures trouble-free access to most
software applications

Serial support using VT100, VT102, and VT220 terminal emulation

Standard TTY mode automatically scrolls incoming data

Installation

The basic installation of the Xtensys system consists of:

Connecting the user stations to the Xtensys KVM ports via CATx cable

Connecting the CATx transmitter(s) to each of the computers to access

Connecting the Xtensys switch to each computer via CATx cable

Connect a local KVM station directly to the Xtensys switch for local access

Once all cabling is completed, apply power and the Xtensys system will automatically adjust the video
equalization and skew for all connected computers to produce a clean, clear display.

User Station(s) (as ordered)

Rack mount kit

Power cord (North American shipments only)

ATRX Kit (CAB-04R005 / ACC-ATRX – for flash upgrading)

Installation and operations manual
