REPLACING THE TD CARTRIDGE
When the TD cartridge replacement required indicator ( ) lights up, the TD cartridge will need replacement soon.
Obtain a new cartridge. When the TD cartridge replacement required indicator ( ) blinks, the TD cartridge must
be replaced before copying can be resumed.
Replace the TD cartridge by following the procedure below.
1 Push on both ends of the front cover
and open it.
2 Pull the TD cartridge out while pulling
up on the lock release lever.
Pull out the TD cartridge
until the green strap
handle can be grasped.
While supporting the TD
cartridge at the green
label with your left hand,
grasp the green strap
handle with your right
hand and pull the TD
cartridge all the way out.
3 Remove the new TD cartridge from the
bag. Grasp the cartridge on both sides
and shake it horizontally four or five
times.
4 Remove the protective cover from the
TD cartridge by unlatching three
cover hooks from the holes on the
cartridge and then pulling the cover in
the direction indicated by the arrow in
the illustration.
5 Insert the TD cartridge along the
guides until it locks in place.
If there is any dirt or dust
on the TD cartridge,
remove it before
installing the cartridge.
When the TD cartridge replacement indicator ( ) lights up, little toner remains and thus copies may be faint.
Note
After removing the TD cartridge, do not shake
it or tap on it. Doing so may cause toner to
leak from the cartridge. Put the old cartridge
immediately in the bag contained in the box of
the new cartridge. Dispose of the old TD
cartridge in accordance with local regulations.
