MTU size
MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) specifies the maximum size of a packet that can be
transferred in one frame over a network. Any messages larger than the MTU are divided
into smaller packets before being sent, which slows down transmission speed.

Normally, the KX-HGW600 optimizes the MTU size automatically. Change the MTU size
only when necessary.

Note

Depending on the MTU setting, the communication speed may be extremely slow.

Dynamic Routing
The KX-HGW600 can automatically adjust to physical changes in the network’s layout.
You can specify whether or not to send the RIP information from WAN (LAN) side to LAN
(WAN) side.

WAN

When the RIP information is sent to the WAN (Internet) side, the
network information on the LAN may be seen by the
unauthorized users. For security, check Do Not Send.

LAN

Normally check Send. When the KX-HGW600 exists on the LAN
with other routers and they are sending the RIP information,
check Do Not Send. When the KX-HGW600 exists with no other
routers and hosts your network's connection to the Internet, all
information is sent to the Internet through the KX-HGW600.
