Caution regarding the CD playback functions

In addition to conventional playback, the CD-2’s CD playback function provides several features intended for
use when practicing musical instruments, such as adjustable speed or pitch.

When using these features, please be aware that depending on the song or settings, you may not obtain the
expected results.

Owner’s manual, Page 40

This function lets you play back a CD slowly without changing the original pitch. This is convenient when
you’re practicing your instrument by playing along with a rapid phrase or a “minus-one” CD that’s
uncomfortably fast.

Slowing down the playback speed to an extreme extent may change the tonal character or cause the audio to
not be smooth, but you can still take advantage of the Slow Playback function for practicing your instrument

Owner’s manual, Page 42

This function eliminates or minimizes sounds localized at the center of the sound field, such as the main vocal
or the lead guitar.

This means that any sounds other than the main vocal or lead guitar that are localized at the center of the sound
field will also be eliminated or minimized. Also, you may not obtain the expected result if the main vocal or
lead guitar is not localized at the center, or if heavy reverb is applied to them.

If you change the speed/pitch/key setting while the CD is playing, the internal processing will change at the
“0” point (the original speed/pitch/key), causing the audio to be interrupted momentarily.
