5.3 Emergency Calls (SOS Calls)
(Available in H.323 phones only)
An SOS call is directly placed to the specified internal or external number
that is valid for all IP extensions. By default, the SOS number is the prefix to
contact the attendants (or their substitutes) on your facility. This prefix number
is 9 for standard configuration in many countries (in U.K. and North America
this prefix is 0)
You can always make an emergency call, regardless of the phone is logged
on to the exchange or not. However, the procedure differs depending on the
logon status.
When the phone is logged on
When the phone is logged on to the exchange, dial the emergency number
(SOS number).
When the phone is logged off
When the phone is logged off from the exchange, you can dial the emergency
number (SOS number) provided the emergency call feature is enabled.
Dial the emergency number and wait for an answer. After the call is terminated,
the emergency centre can call back to your phone although it is logged off.
Note: If the emergency call feature is disabled, the SOS text is not displayed.
In that case, you have to log on the phone to be able to make
emergency calls. The feature is enabled by the network administrator.
5.4 Redial Calls
5.4.1 Redial An External Number
To redial the last dialed external number when the call was unsuccessful (no
answer or busy), do the following:
H.323 Phones
1 Lift the handset and wait for a dial tone.
2 Dial 11 (while in idle state or with dial tone).
The last dialed external number is redialed automatically.
