The above diagram is a high level overview of the Triton ATM software archi-
tecture running Prism. The base operating system is Windows XP Pro and at the
low end you have hardware devices with their firmware that communicate to the
WOSA middleware developed by KAL. Prism application conforms to WOSA-
XFS standards. WOSA-XFS allows higher-level applications to communicate
with low-level device drivers. The Triton ATM WOSA-XFS compliant applica-
tion is developed by KAL. Almost all other ATM vendors in the industry use
KAL middleware for their application. On top of that we have the Prism applica-
tion to perform 912 emulation and Web transactions. At the core of all this is the
Internet Explorer browser that is used to display all screen content in HTML
format. The same browser is also used to display host download text data to the
consumer. This is where Prism application integrates both legacy 912 transac-
tions and web-based transactions into a single screen format that is completely
transparent to the end user. This enables FI’s to modify the look and feel of the
host transaction screens with engaging HTML screens.

The 912-emulation defines the format of the messages exchanges between an
ATM and the host processor for processing consumer financial transactions.
