Basic Behavior When Using Multiple Primary and Secondary Storage Systems

This section explains the basic behavior of XP Continuous Access Journal under the following
conditions:

There are two primary storage systems and two secondary storage systems.

Two storage systems are defined in the RAID Manager configuration definition file.

All XP Continuous Access Journal pairs are in PAIR status.

1.

RAID Manager issues the time stamp, which is defined in the configuration file, in regular
intervals, and the primary storage system stores the time stamp data.

2.

The primary host issues a write request to the primary storage system. Note that the write
request might be issued at a time different from when the time stamp is issued.

The journal obtain function allows XP Continuous Access Journal to store the updated
information for the primary data volume in the primary journal volume as the journal data. At
