Changing User Operation Privileges

To change the operation privileges for a user account, log in with a user account with the Account
Administrator role set to Modify.

To change the operation privileges for a user account that is set to Disable, you need to set the
user account to Enable, change the operation privileges for the user account, and then set the user
account to Disable.
To change the operation privileges for a user account:
1.

Log in to Remote Web Console, and open the Account window (see

“Account Window”

(page 69)

).

2.

Change to Modify mode (see

“Changing Between View Mode and Modify Mode” (page 41)

).

3.

In the Account Information tree, open the folder to which the user account you want to change
the operation privileges is registered.

4.

In the Account Information tree, select the user ID of the user account for which you want to
change the operation privileges. The operation privileges for the selected user account are
displayed in the User Information and Permission Information lists.

5.

Set the operation privileges for each role by selecting from their list.

6.

Set the operation privileges for each function in the Permission Information list if the Storage
Administrator role is set to Enable. To set the operation privileges for each function:
a.

Select the row for which you want to set the operation privileges. You can also select
multiple rows by using the Shift key or Ctrl key.

b.

Right-click, and then select the operation privileges, either View or Modify. The selected
privileges are displayed in the Permission column.

7.

To change the operation privileges for multiple user accounts at one time, repeat step 3 to
step 6.

8.

Click Apply to apply the settings to the storage system.

Enabling or Disabling User Accounts

To enable or disable a user account, log in with a user account with the Account Administrator
role set to Modify.

When you set a user account to Disable, you cannot change the operation privileges for the user
account. To change the operation privileges for a user account that is set to Disable, set the user
account to Enable, change the operation privileges for the user account, and then set the user
account to Disable.
To set a user account to Enable or Disable:
1.

Log in to Remote Web Console, and open the Account window (see

“Account Window”

(page 69)

).

2.

Change to Modify mode (see

“Changing Between View Mode and Modify Mode” (page 41)

).

3.

In the Account Information tree, open the folder to which the user account that you want to
enable or disable is registered.
