Understanding Accessory
Settings

WIRELESS SENSORS

All sensors are associated with four settings.
These are:

• The NUMBER of the sensor.

• The RESPONSE of the sensor to an alert. Use the

tables overleaf to familiarise yourself with how
each response setting works. If you want a
sensor to react differently when it detects an
event, use this menu to change the setting.

• The LOCATION of the sensor, denoted by the

name of the room. The sensors provided within
the BT Home Monitor VP1000 pack are pre-set
with room names, but you can change these
later. It is important to set the name of the
room, so that you can tell exactly which sensor
has triggered in an alert situation.

• The sensor can also make a noise when it is

triggered. The CHIME function means, for
example, that a Magnetic Contact on your
front door would make a sound when the door
is opened. This function is set off by default,
but you can choose to activate either a melody
or a voice option.
