Using a Condenser Microphone
(PHANTOM POWER)

If you’re using a condenser microphone that requires
phantom power, turn on the phantom power as follows.

The BR-800 can provide +48 V phantom power to a
condenser microphone connected to the XLR connector of
INPUT 4.

2

] [

] buttons to move the

cursor to “SYSTEM,” and press the [ENTER] button.

Press the [EXIT] button a number of times to return to

the play screen.

• You must turn off phantom power unless you’ve

connected a condenser microphone that requires
phantom power. Supplying phantom power to a
dynamic microphone or audio playback device
will cause malfunctions. For details on the
specifications of your microphone, refer to the
owner’s manual for the microphone you’re using.
(The BR-800’s phantom power supply is DC 48V,
10mA Max).

• Before turning the phantom power on/off, you

must make sure that the BR-800’s [MASTER]
fader, the INPUT SENS [4/MIC R] knob, and the
[REC LEVEL] knob are all minimized. If you turn
the phantom power on/off with these faders or
knobs raised, high-volume noise will be
produced, possibly damaging your amp or
speakers.

• Since turning phantom power on will increase the

power consumption, we recommend that you use
the AC adaptor.

• When you turn on the BR-800’s power, the

phantom power setting is reset to “OFF.” You’ll
need to turn it “ON” each time you want to use it.

• If you’re using an external microphone preamp or

a dedicated external phantom power supply,
there’s no need to supply phantom power from
the BR-800. In this case, turn the phantom power
“OFF.”
