Installing Brocade NetIron XMR 8000 router power supplies

You will need a small Phillips screwdriver to install power supplies.

Follow these steps to install a power supply in the Brocade NetIron XMR 8000 router.

1. Remove the power supply slot blank.

2. Remove the power supply from the packaging.

3. Insert the power supply into the slot, using the guides provided on either side of the slot.

CAUTION

Carefully follow the mechanical guides on each side of the power supply slot and make sure the
power supply is properly inserted in the guides. Never insert the power supply upside down.

4. Push the power supply toward the back of the router until the power supply connector engages

the backplane connector.

5. Pull the handle on the power supply front panel up to lock the power supply in place.

6. Install a power supply slot blank into all empty slots.

Connecting AC power

AC power is supplied through an AC power cord that is installed at the back panel of the router.
