Caution
- Check if the MPT is closed when closing the front cover. If the front cover is closed with the MPT open,
it may cause malfunction.
Drum Cartridge Replacement
MFP displays “Drum Cartridge Change” on the LCD to give a notice before the drum cartridge reaches its
life. You can print the menu setting page to check the status of the drum cartridge. (If you change the drum
cartridge before resetting the drum cartridge counter, the menu page may not present the status of the drum
cartridge correctly.)
When “Drum Cartridge Change” appears on the LCD first time, you have to replace the drum cartridge imme-
diately. After the drum cartridge reaches its life, the device can operate for some time but print quality drops
significantly.
If you keep using the drum cartrdige, although “Drum Cartridge Change” is notified, the LED lamp blinks in
a certain time indicating that it is the time to replace the cartridge. If replacement of the cartridge is not made
even in this condition, you will be inconvenient from a certain point of time(you have to press any button on
the LCD window to go on printing. This is not a machine failure) with LED lamp blinking in red color. If you go
further without changing the cartridge, the machine will stop for the self protection displaying “Excessive Drum
Counter”. Replace the drum cartridge immediately.
1 Switch off the device.
2 Press the unlock button (①) on the left side of the device to open the front cover (②).
