Displays fan status and speed.

Synopsis

fanshow

Description

Use this command to display the current status and speed of each fan in the system.

Fan status is displayed as:

OK

Fan is functioning correctly.

absent

Fan is not present.

below minimum

Fan is present but rotating too slowly or stopped.

above minimum

Fan is rotating too quickly.

unknown

Unknown fan unit installed.

faulty

Fan has exceeded hardware tolerance and has stopped. In this case, the last
known fan speed is displayed.

The output from this command varies depending on switch type and number of fans present.

The execution of this command is subject to Virtual Fabric or Admin Domain restrictions that may
be in place. Refer to chapter 1, "Using Fabric OS commands" and Appendix A, "Command
Availability"
for details.

Examples

To display information on the fans in the system:

switch:admin>

fanshow

Fan #1 is OK, speed is 2721 RPM

Fan #2 is OK, speed is 2657 RPM

Fan #3 is OK, speed is 2700 RPM
