If the instrument
becomes wet, leave it

unpacked. Wipe down, clean,
and dry the instrument (at not
more than 40 °C/ 104°F),
transport case, foam inserts,
and accessories. Pack up the
equipment only when it is
perfectly dry.

When using the instrument in
the field always close the
transport case.

Cleaning

Objective, eyepiece
and prisms:

Blow dust off lenses and
prisms.

Never touch the glass with
fingers.

Use only a clean, soft and
lint-free cloth for cleaning. If
necessary, moisten the cloth
with pure alcohol.

Use no other liquids; these may
attack polymer components.

Fogging of prisms:
Reflector prisms that are

cooler than the ambient
temperature tend to fog. It is not
enough simply to wipe them.
Keep them for some time inside
your jacket or in the vehicle to
allow them to adjust to the
ambient temperature.

Cables and plugs:
Keep plugs clean and

dry. Blow away any dirt lodged
in the plugs of the connecting
cables.
