Press MENU in the stop mode.

• In the case of the remote control, press

ACTION or MENU.

(The initial settings screen is displayed.)

Disc Languages

This is to select the audio soundtrack

language, subtitle language and the
language used in title menus or DVD
menus which will always be used for

every disc to be played back. {If the

language selected is not available on

the disc, the language designated by
each disc will be selected.)

Ratings

This is to disable the playing of some

DVDs which are unsuitable for some

audiences, for example, children.

Some discs may not be encoded with

specific

rating

level

information

though its disc jacket says that it is
for “adults”. For those discs, the age

restriction will not work. It is possible

to prohibit playback of all DVDs.

Menu Language

This is to select the language to be

used in the On-Screen Display
menus which the player will show on

the screen.

On-Screen Messages

This is to select whether “Play”, “Still”
and other displays will be displayed
or not, and the color and position of
“Play”, “Still” and other displays as
well as On-Screen Menu Icons.
TV Aspect
This is to select the appropriate TV
aspect (4:3 or 16:9) that the player is
connected to.

Digital Audio Output

This is to select the digital output to

be output from the audio input/output
(optical digital audio output) connec­

tor of the player.
Other Settings

This is to adjust other settings such

as dynamic range compression, TV

mode, etc.
Exit

This is to finish the initial settings.

Tilt the joystick (A, ▼) to select the preferred item and press

SELECT.
